Austrian Red Cross
The Austrian Red Cross is responsible for the coordination of the SLIC-project. It is a non-profit organisation based on the ideal of selfless charity. The Austrian Red Cross is active in the field of ambulance services, health and social services, blood programmes, disaster relief, tracing services, education and training, humanitarian law, youth work and first aid. Within the field of health and social services it is also actively involved in home care, visiting services as well as in education and training of older people. The Red Cross has a long tradition of working with volunteers and also strongly promotes the concept of active ageing and volunteering of older people.

Bulgarian Red Cross
The Bulgarian Red Cross is a voluntary organisation, part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. The main areas of activity are:support and participation independently or in cooperation with other formations and specialised services for prevention and reduction of effects of disasters, accidents and calamities/crises; collection and distribution of humanitarian aid and donations from the country and abroad; assistance to vulnerable citizens, social and medical institutions etc., and provision of social and health services; social assistance and organizing health and care activities, social legal and psychological consultations; protecting and improving people’s health, prevention of diseases and traumas through educational programmes and activities; organisation of training courses in first pre-medical aid, first psychological aid, drug addicts’ problems, HIV/AIDS; promotion of non-remunerated blood donation; training, qualifying and re-qualifying of staff members.

CESIS
CESIS is a non-governmental, independent organisation of researchers from a range of disciplinary backgrounds concerned to promote evidence-based, policy-relevant research at both national and European level. CESIS multi-disciplinary team includes people from different areas of the social sciences, such as sociology, economy, geography, psychology, anthropology and social service. The Research Institute of the Red Cross
The Research Institute of the Red Cross (Forschungsinstitut des Roten Kreuzes) is a national non-profit institution which provides practical research results for the health and social sector. It works in four research fields: (1) rescue and emergency care, (2) labour market, employment and volunteer services, (3) health promotion and prevention, and (4) health care. With its team of sociologists, social workers, pedagogues, and project managers it conducts research projects and develops solutions for pressing societal problems. In the project BtT II it is responsible for coordinating the second work package on research. In this work package national reports were produced in which the national social and health care sectors were screened, thereby focusing on educational offers and awareness raising workshops concerning violence against older women in care relations. Concluding the national reports werde summarized to a European report.

LACHESIS
LACHESIS is an office of expertise who gives attention to the ageing process of 50+ women and men, by giving educational courses, by organising projects and by conducting research. LACHESIS wants to create equal chances for 50+ women and men and wants to eliminate social discrimination. The main topics are: elderly abuse, position of older women, gender differences, the Sandwich generation, relationships, sexuality and intimacy above 50, social participation in the elderly, a way to a successful pension, the elderly brain and memory training, elderly education. Els Messelis is social worker and social gerontologist. She is director of Lachesis and coordinator Training Senior Consultants in the Higher Institute for Fiscal and Social Sciences – HUB-EHSAL, Brussels.

Flemish Reporting Point for Elder Abuse
Anyone who is confronted with or is interested in elder abuse in the home situation in Flanders can contact the Flemish Reporting Point for Elder Abuse. One can contact the reporting point through a central telephone number. This reporting point is meant for the whole Dutch speaking part of Belgium. At the Flemish Reporting Point one can pose 4 kinds of questions: information, advise, registration or intervention. When faced with information or advise, people will want to know which steps are to be taken. The Flemish Reporting Point and the detector will try in dialogue to get to a fitting answer. Some detectors will only ask for registration of the case. One will ask for intervention on the spot when the situation is very complex. The Flemish Reporting Point refers to the proper social services.

The Department of Medical Sociology at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf examines medical actions and health behavior in a social context. Its main responsibilities are teaching and research, with the primary field of interest being health care research. Our department offers consulting services for community, state and federal social service providers in the form of expert opinions, expert reports, contract research, serving on advisory boards and continuing education courses. ISIS
ISIS is a private social science research, training and consultancy institute, founded in 1991 and based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In research ISIS has specialised on issues of population groups threatened or concerned by higher risks of disadvantages, such as older persons, migrants, people with disability or the unemployed.
