Conferences
The national conferences formed an important part of the awareness raising activities of the Breaking the Taboo project. One day conferences were organised in Austria, Poland and Finland in March and April 2009 with the aim to raise public awareness on the topic in each of the partner countries and contribute to the "de-tabooisation".
Participants were a very good mix of representatives of different health and social professions (home helpers and carers, nurses, social workers, psychologists etc.), managers of relevant health and care organisations and institutions, staff members and managers of victim protection organisations, decision-makers, researchers, family care givers and other relevant stakeholders. All in all more than 400 participants took part in the conferences, showing the relevance of the topic.
Documentation of the conferences and pictures can be found here.
